I don't think I've ever seen a movie "based on a true story" botch someone's real life personality as badly as this one. Pollard was literally the exact opposite of how they portray him in the movie. He was said to be too soft and a pushover who allowed himself to be bossed around by his mates.

I just watched a doc on here that shows this was bullshit.

Yes the captain came from a so called high blood line, But in reality he wasn't the Pushy, I'm the Man and you my piss ant peasant and whatever I say goes that the movie portrays (The ole 1%ter that is Pure Evil Stereotype)

He actually let the 1st mate push him around and contradict his orders on several occasions, when if he would have actually had the balls and been the Evil Hierarchy Stereotype and followed his own decisions, Then they all would have survived.

Oh Hollywood.
