Clark's Anemonefish (Amphiprion clarkii)

Показать описание
Amphiprion clarkii is a larger-than-average species of anemonefish that is found on reefs of tropical waters in the Indian and West Pacific Oceans. Like nearly all members of the Amphiprion genus, they form a symbiotically-mutual relationship with their host anemone.
Each family consists of one female, one breeding male and the rest are smaller subordinate males. If anything happens to the female, the breeding male evolves to replace her, and one of the smaller males gets promoted to become the breeding male.

However, they differ from most other species in the genus in that they venture further from their anemone, especially when defending it from potential threats.
Juvenile Clark's Anemonefish can sometimes be mistaken for 'Nemo' False Percula Clownfish (Amphiprion ocellaris) due to similar colouration and size during adolescence.

The very reason I like Clark's anemone fish. Larger and less timid. Its a shame that the northern gulf has so few of them.

The Nemos are cute but the Porcupine thing I'd as ugly as sin!
