Lymphedema therapists know the importance of assisting the lymphatics even in situations of orthopedic traumas or following any #surgery, but many times the explainable #swelling is overlooked with the expectation that the swelling is self-limiting where the body will naturally manage it. This is oftentimes true, but at what cost to the patient? Pain, delayed range of motion, increased recovery time and body compensatory movements are all just a few things that can be better managed when clinicians also manage swelling.

This webinar focuses on key points, strategies, and opportunities for education and training for our fellow non-lymphedema clinicians in an effort to advocate for our patients and potentially change the status quo in our areas.

I never thought that my big thighs could be Lipedima. Im 85 years old, and had these large thighs. Im wondering if it’s too late to do something about this. My Doctor has me on pills to reduce inflammation.I’ve taken pills quite often for pain. Lately the pain is worse plus my restless legs are keeping me up. Im very tired. Please advise me what can I do? Thank you, Diane Fauvelle.
