Turkish Helmet Stamped with Kayı Tamgha – Kayı Tamgalı Türk Miğfer

Turkish Turban Helmet (Peçelikli Miğfer/Tolga) dated to 15th century, stamped with the seal of Kayi Tribe (Turkish: Kayı Boyu). The helmet made of steel, iron, gold and silver is decorated with gold and silver inlay inscriptions and motifs. Its nasal defence, aventail hook and the mail aventail/camail (Turkish: Peçelik) that protected the lower half of the face and neck are lacking. Dimensions: Height: 28.5 cm; Diameter: 22.53 cm; Weight: 1092 g. Tamgha, Tamga or Damga is an abstract seal used by the Turks as the emblem of a particular Tribe (Turkish: Boy). The Kayi Boyu was a sub-branch of the Bozok branch of the Oghuz Turks. 15. yüzyıla tarihlenen, Kayı Boyu damgası ile mühürlenmiş Peçelikli Türk Miğferi. Çelik, demir, altın ve gümüşten yapılmış Miğfer/Tolga altın ve gümüş kakma yazıt ve motiflerle süslenmiştir. Burun siperliği, peçelik kancası ile yüzün alt yarısını ve boynu koruyan zincir zırh peçeliği eksiktir. Boyutlar: Yükseklik: 28,5 cm; Çap: 22,53 cm; Ağırlık: 1092 gr. Tamga veya Damga, Türkler tarafından belirli bir boyun amblemi olarak kullanılan soyut bir mühürdür. Kayı Boyu, Oğuz Türklerinin Bozok şubesinin bir alt koluydu. 15. yy dan bir Türk peçelikli miğfer, yine yabancı bir müze envanterinden güzel bir eser. Fazla da kızmıyorum bu eserlerin yabancı müzelerde oluşuna zira onlar sayesinde daha rahat ve kaliteli görsellere ulaşıyoruz. En zengin örnekler halen bizim müzelerimizde ama bu kalitede tek görsele ulaşamayız dahi.
