Ali and Damato loved each other. In a time of tough racism this was a story to truly be proud of. These two lit up EVERY time they saw each other like meeting a long lost friend. I'm sure they're hanging out somewhere on a cloud looking down on us all debating on how best to perfect the sweet science of boxing. Miss em both. R. I. P.

I'm sure this shaped the bond that Ali, Cos and Tyson had with each other.

Cus could have had a fun little jab and made a joke at Ali's expense but that man leaks class like no one else I've seen.

That compliment saying he should have been paying to have the opportunity to see and hear Ali gave me chills. Knowing that’s coming from Cus.

Ali and Cus were great friends, and Ali always sought his opinion before fights. Cus was was a great Trainer. Tyson respects Ali because of Cus and he met Ali through Cus. Ali inspired the young boy and Tyson Idolised him. Ali use to talk to Mike over phone whenever he calls Cus or Cus calls Ali. When Holmes defeated sick Ali that disappointed Tyson made him cry. One day Cus Called Ali and said to Ali here I have a future Heavy Champ Mike Tyson talk to him. Tyson said to Ali when I grow big I am gonna get him for you. The fight Tyson vs Holmes Ali came to see. Before the fight he went over to Tyson and said to him get him for me. Tyson and Ali go a long wayback as friends than people realise. He was seeing Ali until his death as a friend and a father figure. Tyson when you ask him about Cus or Ali that why he gets emotional and cries. Two great men he Idolised as a father figures and Role Model in his life.

Cus wasn’t afraid to tell Ali when he was wrong. But in this moment, his genuine praise of Ali was sincere and I think it meant more to the Champ than he let on

People don't understand something. Ali was ALL Class. They criticize him for the things he said about his opponents, especially Joe Frazier. It was Part of the Act, the Hype. Ali was a humble and Generous Human Being. He felt he was the Greatest Fighter that Ever Lived. Publicly though he would give that honor to his idol Sugar Ray Robinson. It was Ali who got Jim Jacobs to Financially Back Tyson. It was Ali who was the TRUE person to get D'amato to help with Tyson. That's why Mike Loved Ali. Ali didn't want ANY credit Publicly. That's why Ali said Tyson could hurt him if they fought, although Ali DIDN'T believe that. That was his way of legitimizing Tyson. Ali said the same thing of Rocky Marciano, after Marciano died in a Plane Crash. The opposite of Larry Holmes, who wanted the Glory so much ( RIGHTFULLY, I might add) that Holmes said Marciano "couldn't carry my jockstrap) Ali humbled himself Greatly after he was inflicted with Parkinson's. Ali tried getting Cus work after Jose Torres lost his crown, but No one would hire him. They felt he was too One Dimensional as a Trainer, so Cus retired. Then he had the opportunity to mentor Young Tyson, the final chapter in his career before he passed. D'amato didn't train many Fighters he had Patterson for a little while and put some work in with Mike, but he had an enjoyable time and he had an impact on his very few fighters.
