Donny baseball got on one knee and signed my baseball when I was 10 or 11 and asked me if I was getting good grades in school. He was my favorite player growing up and I will always be thankful for the time he took to talk to me. Still have the ball and will take that memory with me wherever I go! He's my favorite player of all time. I hope he knows that people like me worship the ground he walks on. To see my beloved Bombers win it all the year after he retired makes me want to cry. I love the dynasty we had, but Don Mattingly is my MLB version of Dan Marino and that's saying a lot. When I see him in a BlueJays uni I want to cry. Hal should have just paid him to be a Yankees brand ambassador . Donnie Baseball should have never worn another uniform. I have a photo album which consists of nothing but Mattingly baseball cards. I adore that man and what he did for NY.
