Thats pretty cool...showing you how people normally screw in a screw and then split wood....and the second drilling it with a countersink screw....always choose the second option.

Just use engineered screws...
Who even uses screws like that anymore?

I always strip out the screw with a drill

You could also use a larger bit in reverse. Using reverse you won't get tear-outs. (incase you don't have the specialty bit shown.)

Or u just use a screw with a little cutting point and no predrilling needed.
