This April 25th will celebrate the 105th birthday of The First Lady of Song, Lady Ella Fitzgerald. So I thought I would do a little video in tribute for her, because I've always wanted to do something for her.

This 1-hour concert she did in Berlin in 1968 is nothing but pure bliss and enchanting vocal. So I say, let's showcase her brilliant singing here.

The full concert can be watched here, if you're so interested:

Contents
0:00 Intro
0:12 Low Notes

10:55 Head Voice Notes

One of the best artists in music and outside of it. Immense musicianship. Also, soprano. She didn’t really have any of these lows before the 1960s.

Also, watch the performance of Summertime from this concert specifically. Because I was mesmerised by the control, dynamic, range and emotion she displayed there. A masterclass in singing if you asked me. Truly sublime!
