First Batch of F-16 Jets Arrive in Ukraine, Russia Warns of Major Escalation | Firstpost America

The first batch of long-awaited F-16 jets have arrived in Ukraine, Lithuania's foreign minister and a US official confirmed on Wednesday, an effort Kyiv has said will help rebuild its depleted air force. F-16s, built by Lockheed Martin, have been on Ukraine's wish list for a long time because of their destructive power and global availability. The F-16 specialises in suppressing enemy air defences. The West had hesitantly moved towards to provide the jets after concerns that arming Ukraine with advanced weaponry would further escalate the war with Russia. However, NATO members Belgium, Denmark, the Netherlands and Norway agreed to donate a total of 50 F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine. Meanwhile, The U.S. has been training Ukrainian pilots on how to fly the jets and has already graduated the first group of pilots on its operation.

With the Russian depth of air defenses, not sure how good they are compared to what Ukraine had at the start of the war. Russian FPVs are loitering and they can easily spot them when stationed and destroy also..

I Have question which f - 16
F 16 Is extremely old fighter .
It was upgraded over decades and some version inferior version were made for non US countries question which one .

Latest f16 had very good radar some of their engine efficiency has been increased too.
Work done on avionics computer was upgraded but .

What I fell it's not the upgraded f 16s these are the older one's they are selling off cheap are now shipped there.
