I could understand if you see one or 2 cockroaches every once in a while but if you open your fridge and see more cockroaches than there is food then there’s a problem

I just don't understand how people can live that way. I flip out from just seeing ONE roach.

I once bought a car full of roaches. Didn’t realize till nighttime. I saw like 15 crawl out of the shift knob all at once. Coming out of the air vents, it was my worst nightmare. I set 5 bug bombs off in the car, 2 in the trunk and 3 in the cab. I believe I won the war that night. Never seen another one since.

Idk man, if this kind of thing is normal for the landlord, he must be at least slightly to blame. Still, no excuse for tenants to do this to a house.

When I moved into this apartment 4 years ago, we had at least 4 rats running around. Got a cat, and haven’t seen them since.

Willing to bet the tenant moved in with a roach problem already there, they probably informed the landlord and asked for an exterminator, landlord ignores them entirely, tenant moves out, landlord blames tenant for infestation. Landlords are more likely to be the greedy scumbag in these situations, yes sometimes the tenant really is the problem but if both accused one another for a problem I’d sooner believe the tenant.

That's why you need references, You rent to filth that's exactly what they'll leave behind.

A lot of landlords will rent their property to just anyone and then cry when they leave the place looking like garbage

Most places with roaches have been there since the beginning of time

I live in a sec 8 housing and they do not upkeep at all. We moved in not even a month, I woke up went to the kitchen, flipped the lights on, and everything was crawling. I was schocked and disgusted. Called the housing authorities, they send a guy, who was doing time for a crime, does a shitty 10 min spray and calls it a day. Roaches still here.

just moved into my first apartment from living in the suburbs my whole life and only seeing a big roach here & there. My FIRST night i came into with a dead bug, 3 months later and 3 exterminator sessions later they are still here 😖 it’s so uncomfortable me and my roommate don’t even eat past a certain time! not sure if it’s the neighbors or the apt since it’s old but it’s enough to make some one depressed

Believe me most landlords know about roach infestation and don’t do shit about it.The tenant did the right thing by leaving it there for the landlord to clean up

I would NEVER wait for somebody else to treat a place where I live! I don’t care if it is rented! If the landlord doesn’t do it you just sit in that cesspool and call it home? That’s a stand-off I would never try to win! 🤢🤮

The tenants were nasty and to blame. Before I bought a home, I rented an apartment a decade ago. The owner said there is a few roaches and spiders when I moved in. I told him to give me a week and they'll be gone. I bleached everything and made sure not a sugar crumb was out. I never since my first week after moving in saw any pest.
