hey folks thought I would bring you along for a look at a classic old Thompson Center Arms renegade 50 caliber black powder rifle. I picked this up at a local pawn shop today caskey's gun and pawn in Morehead Kentucky, if your local to the area or just passing through stop in and check them out they have a large selection of guns at this moment. and they also have ammunition although not as plentiful. I got one of these for $100 in the local newspaper classified ads, about 20 years ago. It’s a great rifle, and it shoots well with pyrodex, 777, and BP. Way cooler than an inline.

I have a Renegade and wanted some history on the gun, but the factory burned down years ago, and all records were destroyed. I made contact with a gentleman who worked with the factory back when they were still made. From what he told me the original guns were not stamped wit Renegade on the barrel. He said they did stamp Renegade on them intill after they came out with the DIY kit then they started putting Renegade on the factory. He also stated the kit rifles had a K prefix in the serial number.

My father bought me one for Christmas in 1985.. I killed a big 8 pointer and a Doe in Ross County Ohio in 1986 …..I still have it decided to hunt this year here in Overton County TN …It’s still very accurate. Glad I never parted with it …

I like the Renegade the best great muzzleloader Good find wish we had pawn shops we are in a Rural area only one small gun shop we bought a Savage Markll Bolt action 22 Rifle from him last week they didn’t have hardly any guns and said he can’t order any good video Rob Be Safe

I took a six point with my TC Patriot loaded with a 50cal maxi ball. Same thing, I didn't see which way it ran. It got dark and I didn't find it until the next morning. Luckily it was cold out.

Nice !! I wish I could find me one like that. I have a American Knight I bought back in the early 2000’s but it’s a in-line striker fire and I want a side lock.
