She was a fool. Somers was contracted as a co-star, not star. That role went to John Ritter who was the main star and naturally was payed more money to keep him. Without him the show would be pointless. Somers violated her contractual obligations by not showing up for work in protest. She was deluded with gender politics and ignorance.

Now on that case of who was the star, it was true it was john, yet let add in all the star power there, the ropers 2 old school acters that got payed all so right? & and if there contracts where coming to a end that might be why they were replaced, now come Mr Farley yes another be star, so when it was time for jack to move on, it maybe cause they all asking for more money, now the show having jack married failed star or no star, but if the show continue with the ladies, people would have watched, truth would be it would have fallen too, they needed a male in it, so back the main point, they all should have beed payed, during that time 1 or 2 stars that's all a sit com co7ld do, look at every show that took a co star out for a new show cause they became more favorable, DUKES OF HAZZARD/ ENOS - HAPPY DAY/JONI & JACHE - SANFORD & SON/ CHICO & THE MAN/ GRADY, well the point is it doesn’t always work out, but if cane ask do so til your time to shines comes up, just sad they couldn't pay everyone what they are worth
