► What does it take to produce high-quality wheels? Two factors are crucial: The quality of the components (such as spokes, hubs and rims) that are used to manufacture a wheel AND the quality and know-how of the wheel building process itself.

DT Swiss develops, tests and produces the components that make up a wheel (spokes, hubs, rims) on their own. At the same time the company invests consistently in the optimization and know-how of the wheel building process itself, to ensure and increase its quality.

It is the combination of these two factors that result in the outstanding quality, performance and durability of DT Swiss wheels.

I am a love to do servicing of mechanical parts of my mtb. Even I have learned the wheelbuilding. Internet helps me a lot to develop this skill at the beginning...but i always wanted to go deeper or know more about wheel building. Gerd Schraner's book helps me a lot...after completion, i understood how limited my knowledge was regarding this wheel building! I have also done some diy staff...like lacing 24 hole rim with a 32 hole hub...that was fun...at the beginning of cycling what i knew about Dt swiss..their products are very reliable..as well as very expensive....those who race for the competitions loves to use their staffs...thats all I knew before..but when i understand why Dt Swiss's items always consider reliable..i was astonished! Their rigorous testing procedures are the gold standard for the industry. Even their tiny little spoke or nipple had to go through weight caring test before bearing the certificate of approval. Though These steps sound really good for us but it was this steps that made the final product expensive.

What's more exciting is getting to ride your wheel, once you've laced it.

The rim tape on both my DT tubeless wheels leaked sealant into the spokes and rim joint. I had to rewrap them and they still leak through the joint but not the spokes. Why can't they install some kind of permanent flexible joint sealer in the joint area?

I imagine this is the music they blast in the factory.

Hi there, I recently purchased a new road wheelset. It seems true but I’m not sure if some of the spokes have uneven tension - there’s a little rub in some of the cross joints. Should I be going to get it looked at or is this normal for a new wheel?

Always loved Dt Swiss products as a mechanic and rider. I still ONLY build with their spokes. I once applied for a job as wheel builder at DT Swiss after many years of shop experience building high end wheels in highly regarded shops. No call back, nothing. The first guy in this video makes me so glad I didn't. He looks dead inside... press bearing, flip hub, press bearing... Unfortunately bicycle production is just a production job...

why all the staff are caucasian? sub them to china so you can lower the cost and make your wheels more affordable.
