Another British model to receive a Soundtraxx Econami UK Steam decoder. I actually am really happy with the way this turned out. It was pretty bad when I got my hands on it.

It did not run good at all. Someone had tried their hand at a weathering job and honestly, just spread paint all over the body and driving rods and wheels. It was so heavy and looked awful. It was a muddy brown, and had no consistency and just brush strokes. Oop.
It was completely caked with old grease from the factory, which had hardened over the corse of about 15 years or so.

A thorough cleaning and look though proved that this model still had much life left in it.
After discovering that these models had a more updated frame and chassis, I was impressed to find that the Buehler can motor ran exceptionally well and did not miss a beat. The frame was washed clean, drivers were also cleaned with caked in grease and paint. That wasn't fun to clean.

Finally, a much needed repaint was done. I cleaned up as much of the weathering as possible. I found some 00 gauge sized Sticker decals which had the Era 4 design (1956-1964, the era l model for 0O) and a gloss black was sprayed. I applied the stickers, but decals were another story. Waited about 3 weeks for British Railways decals to be located and bought them. Those came another 3 weeks later. Ergo here we are, not correct but it looks just fine to me.

Decoder installed, I used a IPhone 6s mega speaker and it totally helped the quality of the sound for this.
I then sprayed the final flat coat, and she was ready to be ran.
Some programming later and here is the end result.

As always, Enjoy.
