All that time Red wanted him out of the house and telling home about a job, life, and relationships. He finally wants to move away and his parents get mad. Even after being engaged to Donna, they talk about moving away together. Eric gets offered a job at a bank so he can pay for the wedding and school but then Kitty goes out of her way to stop him from getting the job. It’s like they want him to leave by then when he decides to go they try to keep him home.
