How I bend my box offset.

I tell my apprentices the same thing at the end with the box. It should fit and look like a glove. Nice bend sir

‐Put conduit in bender.
‐2 finger spacing from the end of the pipe to the bender head.
‐Bend it until you feel it bend. No more.
‐Turn 180°.
-Push pipe until the bend isn't in the shoe. You can feel it.
-Bend it until it's parallel.

I've ALWAYS done it that way, it's uniform enough that you can't tell unless you break out a measuring tape, and they always fit like they're supposed to. I'm NOT saying I'm right, I'm saying ife never had a journeyman, foreman, or inspector call me on it, so it's good enough, and fast.

What we need to see to be able to duplicate that is the position of the marks on the conduit and a visual of the bend in relation to the marks on the tool.

I usually throw it right on the end but same numbers 3” (4 fingers) and 10*. Sometimes you do want that thing a little further back like you did

Bunch of hacks in the comments. I go 1st mark 2 1/2 to maybe 3 inches back of emt at 10 degree 2nd mark 2 inch back.
