I thought he used light from his window and split the light with a card. The info online about these double slit experiments and how they were conducted are so confusing and contradictory.

The interference pattern at 2:37 can be seen in the long shots of the waves of surfers at Nazare in Portugal. ( Only a small number of videos show it though). The interference is generated by a canyon which runs perpendicular to the beach, the water being forced along the canyon becomes a wave generator independent of the surface wave. ( So I think)

Correct me if I’m wrong but I could create a set up like his and get similar results? I’m teaching satcom and I want to show students how everything in the electromagnetic spectrum is waves and this would be a great demonstration.
I was also told the result on the last sheet differs if you look at the light as it passed through the slit as opposed to when you don’t look at it and only look at the last sheet. Thank you
