Mamuk performing at Sea-Arama in Galvenston, Texas in the early 1970s.

Mamuk was a SRKW (J or L Pod) captured on Oct 15, 1968, at Bainbridge Island.
His tank was small and the water was far too warm for a killer whale.
He was joined by Lil’ Nootka in August 1970 and the pair got along. Lil’ Nootka died the following March.
Mamuk became the star of the park and drew large crowds. He performed waterworks too.
Mamuk died on June 14, 1974, from acute streptococcal septicaemia.

Yesss, please keep an eye out for more Mamuk footage. This is great, though it was unfortunate that he ended up in possibly the smallest pool to ever house a killer whale.

Rip boy! Sad you had to live in a very small tank, but you were an amazing whale ❤️
