I was rooting for a happy ending. Mai deserved it! But it never came. And I sat there on my couch for 30 minutes after the movie ended in a daze and just crying.

The falling inlove and double break up felt too real. I spent the next day thinking why they didn't up together. I was thinking that if they did.. it would be another cliche story that we easily forget. But because it wasn't a happy ending. We were hooked. I was disappointed that Duong moved on in those 2 years... when 2 years before that he was the bigger cry baby...but as a solo parent myself, it made sense to not pursue their relationship at the expense of Duong's relationship with his mother. It was definitely bittersweet movie. A good representation that not all great loves are your final love. At the end of the day, they had to make difficult decisions for the family that they have.

I sat down for two hours watched and hoping Mai happy end of the story but not. Mai deserve it all. It was such a great movie👏

Was recommended by a friend .. 1st time watching vietnamese movie. Mai really turn out to be so good .. This movie was realistic.. The moment when all know the nice lady boss turn out to be Sau's mom. Knew the storyline how it going to turn out...
Prefer this type of movie, as there isn't fairytale in real life..

Though was sad actually Mai was waiting for Sau. However he broke his promises, which his mom was correct in the 1st place... He will break her heart ...
But glad that, in the end Mai's life was successful & better.. To me this is her happy ending....

This 😮was a really, really good movie. The sad part they truly loved each other. 😢So sad, how their parents greed won out over the relationship. The sacrifice (their happiness)they made for their parents. Both parents valued money over their children's happiness. At the end of movie the pain ❤&❤ love was still there.

Best movie 2024, some may not like the ending but guess wat not everyone get a happy ending, n this is wat makes this movie even more special .It's the detail the story the director added into the movie, showing the venerable side of every character .for. Me its10/10.

Mai is the first Vietnamese movie I've watched and it is the best movie I've watched in years, bar none. To anyone reading, this movie is worth your time. Watch it. And have tissues ready.

With that being said, I need a sequel to this movie where Mai gets her happy ever after. My heart cannot accept it that she was let down again. "Don't love me. Don't give me hope", she said to Duong at the bar. But Duong persisted and Mai let him into her heart. So... why, WHY Duong! Why did you let Mai down!!
