If you want a big explosion, I suggest putting a ballon in the middle of the cake filled with cherry sauce or the sauce you used and cover it with frosting :D

The way how I would make it is make the base and make a few layers then but a water balloon with red food dye in it and then put more layers and icing and write blank space

Sorry if this sounds weird, as I don’t know how to put this into words. but I feel like you’re one of the few bakers who ‘understand’ this cake, yet still make it your own.

From what I’ve seen, when other bakers make in their version of the blood syrup, it’s always just too runny. I know, it’s just a cake and not supposed to be serious. Some even stab the fake one take, and make another take to give the impression of the Stan effect. The tiny detail bothers me a little haha.

But here, I like how you added that chocolate layer to give more visual impact if you were to stab the cake. The cracks from the chocolate just hits for the broken heart feel for me!
But also you got the right consistency of the blood syrup, and also further explained to refrigerate it, so it can keep all the visual effects looking awesome!

Anyways, sorry for my fangirling moment. But To me, This recipe is a great one!

If you want the blood to pop out more you could use a balloon fill it up with a balloon cut a hole in the cake or the balloon will go and put it in there and then put some of the cake you cut off on top of that and then cover the top of icing then decorate
