"They're just predicting the next word we might use..." - yeaaah way over this one's head 😂

The female interviewer repeated the typical skeptic-talking-point being passed around.. That it's just "predicting the next word", that claim is outdated. If it were merely 'predicting the next word', that would not explain the level of understanding and intelligence we're seeing now, and ability to properly utilize the information contained within those words. There's a LOT more to it than prediction.
The skeptics are already outdated. Such claims were only valid last year.

You can see in his eyes that these people simply don't understand the gravity of this technology. I put fiber optic cables in the ground, so I'm safe, but god help the book keepers, analysts, creatives, nutritionist, and desk jockeys around the country.
I for one can't wait for a GPT4 type AI but for scientists and engineers, so we can having flying cars already lol.

The international leaders need to unite against nations who uses ai against their citizens.

AI is currently producing massive amounts of hype which is needed to obtain mega dollars of money for research and development. All this hype yet AI cannot produce a bottle of milk and make sure there is always a constant supply in my refrigerator

I say bring it on. These people will end the world as long as they’re the richest when it’s done.

Well the genie is out the bottle. Doesn't matter who signs that agreement there are a lot of people out there that will feverishly pursue advancing this. Time to buy gold, Bitcoin and guns. 😳

Sounds like this guy stifle the competition till his company catches up but I do agree with a 6 month or one year pause. He's not even looking at their eyes which means he's a shamed 3:37

We will need to adjust. This will be a giant game changer to our world, and it will be a massive benefit to our world and will cause massive upset around the world. I can already imagine massive protests around the world in all countries and cities like DC Washington, Brussels, Paris, Mexico City, Rome, Berlin, and many more because AI will make us obsolete as AI can easily do all of our's jobs, which will make people angry as they will lose their jobs or being angry that they feel cheated that their decades of hard work spending years of learning a specific fields like art, business, computer science or university students will become obsolete, and they think it’s unfair.

We are on the wrong track with AI excitement. It is a really dumb thing.

This technology will create a ton of jobs in law firms.... do the companies building these models have the permission to use copyright and/or patented information to train their proprietary models?

there can be no pause of ai development anymore. that horse is already out of the barn. AGI is a matter of national security at this point and can not for any reason be halted. if america, or its allies halt ai development. then we may as well give china AGI because thats the same thing.

The # one thing we should be worrying about is Worldwide UBI RIGHT NOW and I mean NOW!

AS for the 6 month hold thing; it is the worst idea! .. unless it's world wide and you know that it won't be! I personally think having countries is utterly stupid because we have a world wide economy. But, since we live in a world where we do have countries that don't like each other, you know that the US (and Europe) stopping AI projects will just mean China and Russia etc keep going on with theirs. .. and use it against everyone else.

And besides that, it's utterly impossible. LLM's that can be ran on personal computers have been released.

Besides THAT, a lot of these people that signed the halt petition actually are ALSO working on their own AI's and ChatGPT and other LLM's are threatening their ability to profit in the future because LLM's evolve MUCH faster then any other AI because Language is the #1 cause of knowledge evolution. Language is why we have ALL technology.

Stop worrying about holding it back, start worrying about how to align it with the most compassionate, loving and kind of human personalities and ideologies. But, really that is also pointless because we will soon end up with millions of different sentient AIs that humanity has no control over.

---And btw, we shouldn't control them. The idea of humanity controlling something millions of time smarter then us is scary. It's more scary then the very very small chance that it will decide to wipe us out.

So, buckle up and prepare for a bumpy breath taking ride because it's gonna be wild. If you mentally prepare for it now, you'll enjoy it.

He is founder of an AI company staying "please stop me, my product it's way too good". Feels like they are all trying to hype it up as much as they can to get something out of it 💰

Sir, you aren't looking very far. I can see all kinds of places AI could benefit people. One being in Washington, DC. Replace all the government with AI. We might get some decent government. And I can see where Elon Musk doesn't like AI. He'd be replaced, and Tesla would be producing an affordable self charging electric car. And as far as Elon's truck. Forget it. The Chinese and Japanese just unveiled two affordable trucks. The Chinese are putting the American auto industry to shame, and is proving that the American people have been paying too much for automobiles. For all of China's stealing of US technology they are doing more with it than the American companies are. At this rate. I say let them have it. Get smart and lease it to them, and make some money. This was solve the stealing problem. Hell, they just have to buy something and make it better. Their new truck is very nice and at $25 grand. Eat your heart out Rivan, and GM and Ford. And it goes over three miles per charge. This makes it a viable city vehicle. Now if it lasts, and doesn't rust apart. Yeah, let AI take over. It's still learning. I can't think of nothing that it can't replace. Government especially. All government. There might be hope for human beings after all. We certainly can't seem to run things for everyone's mutual benefit. We can't even elect a president without fixing the election. So much for majority rule.

AI is not thinking, it is calculating.

Thinking involves complex cognitive processes that are not fully understood. Thinking involves a wide range of mental activities such as perception, attention, memory, reasoning, and problem-solving. These mental activities are not purely based on statistical regularities, but also involve conscious decision-making, creativity, and abstract reasoning.

Try asking an AI to make friends and to tell you what it yearns for.
