Four Women - Nina Simone

In honor of Women's History Month and International Women's Day, I wanted to do a project that celebrated women and highlighted some of my very talented family and friends.

Working with each of the ladies on this project was so inspiring! Each of them brought their own experience, musical ability, and was a joy to collaborate with.

Nina Simone once said, “I think women play a major part in opening the doors for better understanding around the world." I couldn't agree more. When women are empowered, we as a society are empowered.

Thank you to all the women who are artists, creatives, leaders, activists, workers, thinkers, mothers, wives, partners, daughters, sisters, supporters & friends who literally make our lives possible.

As a caucasian woman, I am so sorry for the trauma, pain and horror put on all black, brown, tan, yellow and everyone. This is a stunning piece of work and homage to Nina Simome. I have no idea of the racial injustice so many face, but this gave me chills and is an absolutely raw piece of art. The idea of slavery is just beyond words. I am sorry for you and your ancestors, it should never have happened.
