I was at the screening of this film at the Pan African Film Festival a few days ago and it's an absolutely beautiful film. And Ledisi's performance was understated and lovely. Her singing was so powerful and moving. I cried through several of the scenes. This is a wonderful tribute to an iconic black woman.

Columbus Short back y'all😭😭😭 AND He's playing Dr.King. This looks like it will be a good film. I know Ledisi takes her assignments seriously and will not dissappint. I also feel that The Mahalia Jackson story that was shared on Lifetime was highly underrated. I bawled my eyes out...had to have a moment with Jesus afterward.🤣 Either way, I'm glad her story is being told. Granny used to play her music throughout the house growing up.
