Brilliant in every way. Strong message and deep. I remember being told to put Jehovah first and not go to college. I also remember our congregation getting us to make financial pledges on paper and sign them on a Thursday meeting. As they needed more funds. I remember the pressure..

I was a "Day Worker" at the Canadian Bethel back in the 1990's, when a few Bethelites got selected for Law School. All of the Bethelites were so jealous of these guys (I think there was four of them).
I remember thinking that everyone could just go if they really wanted to, and they didn't need to be selected by the Bethel.
One of the selected guys left his wife and left the Jehovah's Witnesses while he was in Law School!

08:02 hit home. The hubby of an old friend of mine was doing the ministry in my street. I ignored the quiet tapping of my door knocker then peeked out the curtain to see who it was. I was shocked to see him walking with a cane. He looked very uncomfortable. He’s only in his late 40s possibly early 50s. Makes me wonder if spending the last 25 years climbing ladders is taking its toll 😢 breaks my heart. Her grandparents and now her parents are all passed on and she’s still plodding on paying in their window washing money at the bank, knocking doors and cooking meals for the pioneer school.

I remember the 'responsible childbearing in the time of the end' talk while I was heavily pregnant!! So many disapproving glances. Now my boys are in their late 20s and my siblings are middle aged and childless. So sad.
