After having my Spark 40 for over 2 years -- still think it's awesome on sound and choices of what you can do with it.

Amazon has these with 20% off. Sealed the deal for me. What makes this amp special is the looper. This amp is well made and delivers sound and features.

Phil, I always enjoy your videos. You have such an honest and helpful attitude…

Thanks for bringing this amp to my attention. At this price point, however, I’d go with a Spark Mini.

Love the Spark but, I also like my little Joyo Bantam amps the are a wonderful pedal platform both with get you the tone you want. There is always something to be said for portability. Joyo seems to always put out a quality product for a non boutique price point. It truly sits between the Roland and spark mini… great review awesome showcasing of what it can do in a bite size format… I did not need 30 min to decide!

I have a Yamaha THR10. Bought it seccond hand for €100. I think this is the best practice amp money can buy.

Joyo produces some fine products, I've got two of their R Series pedals, the EQ and the Uzi, and they are great.

Joyo makes a lot of nice stuff, decently priced. They have an exacting duplicate of the old Beale Street tube amp as well.

Interesting portable amp Phil—would love to see you demo one of the new Vox battery powered portable amps (Vox Mini-50–50 watts!) that also have built in Drum generator and mulitple amp models, reverb/tremlo and delays/modulations (can use 2 at a time) plus an effects loop, headphone jack, , etc and scalable power from 50 to 5 to 0.5 watts (price about $299-279. Vox gives you three choices—Mini-50 with 8in speaker, Mini-10 and Mini-3. Would love to see a comparison to this new Joyo amp

Some neat features (built in looper and drum machine!), but I'm happy with my (more pricey) Yamaha THR30II.

Great demo dude. I've got this amp coming very soon and really cannot wait as I used too drum but don't have a drummer to play guitar with... definitely excited about that and the looper as I was just about to get a looper pedal so big bonus.
The battery life for me personally is just another ☑️
Again, great demo.

Well that's a nifty little busking or practice amp on the fly for the money. Thanks Phil! I imagine sometime my little grandnephews would enjoy a couple of these to learn guitar/bass and practice on.

Thanks for this! I'm teaching my teenager daughter to play bass, and even though you said the speaker doesn't handle bass very well I'm thinking I might give this a try. Right now she's just using an old Line6 Micro Spider (I forget the model but it also has a battery option). I'm thinking this would be a step up, and the drum machine could be a great glorified metronome. Cheers Phillip!

I don‘t know why but if I leave my YouTube unattended, it always jumps to your channel. And I‘m not complaining about it.

Bonus points for room miking. Not enough demos give an idea of how amps sound in the room.

Phil! You play the best demos. Thanks 🙏

I see why some people would prefer this, but I’ll take the PG amp over this one because it actually has great useable tones for all genres, plus the tone cloud. I actually like that the pg spark doesn’t have a built in battery because it’s just one more thing to go wrong that I wouldn’t be able to replace. I like that I can get 20k+ mah battery that will run it for 5+ hours, and if that battery ever craps out, it’s $20-$70 for a new one instead of replacing the whole amp, or paying $150+ to have it replaced. Messing with power sources is something I’m a bit weary about, so I’m glad the battery I got isn’t built in. The joyo is still pretty cool though, especially if you play majority blues/jazz/rock.

Thats a Trip. I was just looking at that amp, Thanx Phil... Needing somethin to travel and play with, like at family bbq at moms or practice in a hotel etc.... Thanx again !

It’s basically a microcube by roland, same controls, same effects (if I remember correctly)
But with battery.
I have a microcube first generation, I run that with 10400mAh powerbank that give 9v and a cable adapter that I made (usb to center negative barrel jack).
With the declared consumption and 30 minutes of playing a day, it should last at least 60 days.
