I asked my advisor in physics how he got so good and his reply was a shrug and a short but sweet, ' I'm old '

As an English major, I can confidently say this also holds true for writing. If you want to be a good writer, get all the experience and practice possible.

Yes, sometimes the right answer is not comforting, but yet it's the right answer

Reflecting on contrasting experiences over time develops wisdom

Exactly. I remembered how I started it and how it is now. Sometimes, it’s just difficult to explain to someone. Some clicked while in the bathroom. Sometimes, what you know might be asked in a different way, without experience, you won’t get it.
Practice and Time❤️

Math has, actually, made me realize this cuz I am not good at math. And I used to wonder why. I thought it had to do with my intelligence or something. But then I realized that other students who were good at it were pouring hours into practicing math and I was learning English and reading books that had nothing to do with math. The reason I was not good at it and they were was "time-spent-disparity" which, as you (sir) have just mentioned, results in experience! Thanks for this video, it made me more firm in my belief, now I am gonna start spending more time on math.

The only way I know of to become proficient at math is to do a lot of math problems of increasing difficulty. Having good math teachers along the way is always a plus also. I've always liked learning about math while also learning about the corresponding historical context. For example, in high school geometry we were taught how to do geometric constructions and write proofs. We learned little or nothing about the history of geometry. It was many years later when my wife bought me a couple of paperback books about Euclid's Elements and important proofs. In them was a chronological history of many of the same proofs we constructed in high school. Including all of the historical details of the proofs. I understood it much better after knowing these details. Much better than I had with the cookbook approach of high school.

Not only does experience of using particular methods help you get good at that method but experience of the psychological process of maths helps you develop the necessary mindset.

Maths makes you feel dumb. You are often faced with problems that seem impossible until you can see how to solve them. You need to put aside this self doubt and fear and actually concentrate on the mathematics in front of you and when you do the answer is often surprisingly close. It's such a great life lesson as well as a necessary maths lesson.

Unfortunately schools often teach mathematics in tiny increments so that nobody gets lost along the way. In contrast I want my kids to get lost because learning to find your own way when you are lost is a big part of what they need to learn.

So experience is a function of deliberate practice & Time
Experience(E) = Practice(P) × Time(t)

Can I just say that I love your videos and it's people like you, with passion for your subject and a drive to put that out there that really make a difference to people like me who love knowledge and the difficult path to its acquisition. The world can seem very dark, but when I see people like you and others who want to bring their love of what is important and beautiful in their lives to other people it makes me feel better and happy to be alive in spite of all the absurdity and pain we experience as human beings, especially at the moment. Keep up the fantastic work because I think educators like yourself shine lights into the darkness that strangers see and gain solace from.

That's true, I always try to think: "If I do that a lot of times I will get experience". It's like a videogame, the Math problems are the quests and you're getting more XP and the problems will become harder and harder, but if I have enough experience I'll can handle that.

Agreed, on every studied math subject one eventually reaches a point where you know, out of experience, something will work due to writing so many proofs and solving so many problems.

I agree but I think you can learn more effectively in certain ways than others. My advice would be: Have great love for math. When you truly love something you pick it up very quickly. Allow yourself to fall in love and you will become truly great at math. It can't just be about passing tests and getting a degree. (If you want to be great, and not simply good.)
