Elementor Vs Gutenberg - Page Speed Benchmarks

We runs some speed tests between these popular WordPress page builders. We put the native WordPress editor, Gutenberg up against the popular Elementor page builder.

You might expect the native builder to be a lot faster, while the 3rd party Elementor trades off some speed for extra design features - but how much difference does it really make?

We loaded up identical pieces of content, with identical images and layout and put it to the test!

This was definitely an interesting video to make - I was genuinely not sure how this one was going to play out.

Elementor is slow on mobiles. On desktop is OK. Gutenberg is fast both on mobile and desktop devices

Double the memory usage is not irrelevant at all. No matter the hosting plan (I'm using top tier VPS) when you multiply the traffic to tens of thousands that'll essentially save you hundreds of dollars of hosting.

I'm currently in the same exact position and transition from Elementor to Gutenberg. Our business can afford to pay for top tier hosting plan, but still, it's illogical to have such a memory hog on our page builder side, instead of using that memory to accustom more users (instead of bumping the tier even more)

Gutenberg Block Editor is open source and will be more robust than any page builders
The question here why I need to depend my self on page builder services while I have an open source and many programmers contributors.
Many business owners in these days want to reduce their costs :)

If building own website, better use Gutenberg. Avoid slow builder like Elementor ..
