A fact most don't know about Wilt Chamberlain: NBA started recording Blocks in 1973 past Wilts Career, but there are recorded stats for 112 games recorded by team interns. For those 112 games, Wilt averaged 8.8 blocks per game. Wilt played all of these 112 games at age 34 or older. Now imagine Wilts block average for career, considering when he was younger he had fine knees. Also Wilt NEVER got fouled out. NEVER. That's just incredible.

By far the most feared shot blockers ever were Wilt Chamberlain and Bill Russell. Just because they didn't keep that stat officially until they retired should not disqualify them from this list. I'd also put Artis Gilmore and Nate Thurmond on this list.

Astonishing that you could include Kareem but leave out Wilt. In his prime, he probably averaged more blocks per quarter than any of these players averaged a game.

No Russell or wilt is an insult. Honorable mention to Nate Thurmond, artis Gilmore, Marcus camby, Dwight Howard, tree Rollins, Elmore smith, Shawn Bradley, Ben Wallace, KG, and mature bol,

No Wilt Chamberlian? This is a bogus list. No one on this list could even compare to him.

Bill Russell and Wilt were probably the greatest shot blockers ever, but before stats were official. Manute Bol deserves a mention, though his career was short.

80% of Lebron's points were made at the rim and no center in his era is mentioned except Shaq and Duncan who were old before Lebron became great in the NBA while Jordan played against all the centers mentioned in this video. In the 90s, Jordan played against Hakeem, Mutumbo, Robinson, Shaq, and Ewing and in the 80s when Shaq was not in the league, he had to face the aforementioned players plus Eaton and Kareem. Jordan still averages above 50% FG while playing for the bulls. Lebron couldn't average above 50% FG from his rookie year till 2009 until Duncan and Shaq were old and the big men were smaller. A school for thought

avg 3.1 blocks per avg over 6 blocks a game....but wilt was the king....he had 28 blocks in one game and had over 20 blocks 90 avg of 12 blocks per will never be aproached.

I think Ben Wallace is the most feared. His body alone intimidates people.
