2Lo was the first double jump I landed, about 6 months after I started skating. However, my technique wasn’t solid and it eventually went so wild I stopped practising out of fear.

For the next year or so, I tried on and off to get it back but struggled to visualise the proper technique, and so kept letting my left side swing wildly and pulling out midway in panic. There was just this mental wall I couldn’t seem to get over. Just the thought of trying a double loop filled me with dread and the certainty that I would fail.

Finally, FINALLY, yesterday I happened to observe a really nice 2Lo from another skater at my rink and just like that, I was able to visualise it again, and did four fully rotated 2Lo for my coach (two footed, but on-axis and otherwise technically correct).
My next lesson is tomorrow. I’m watching this video on repeat trying to keep that visualisation clear in my mind. Cross fingers this time I can keep the damn jump! 🤞🤞🤞😅
