You know that Sunday is the first day of the week? So.. God rested the last day he made the world. That was a Saturday. So therefore.. Saturday is the day we must rest. Not Sunday

I was in a town called Ashkalon in Israel....checked in the Holiday Inn....before entering my room there was a card hanging on the door knob saying...Today is the Sabbath day...No meat or Room service is available...it was on a Saturday.

I feel in my spirit that the Sabbath is on Saturday, always have since I became grown and looked into it, because God convicted me about this...so, I'd say that they are correct, at least about what day the Sabbath is on.

I was raised in the Seventh day Adventist church. The sabbath is from just before sundown on Fridays, to sundown on Saturday in preparation for the sabbath. My grandparents, my siblings, and myself. Would complete any business, school homework, any house cleaning, and cooking before sundown, my grandmother would ensure that the house was completely clean cut bouquets of flowers, and prepare our breakfast, and lunch and some snacks for Saturday. As well as having our dinner before sundown on Friday. My grandad would ensure all chores needed done all before sunset. We were to shower. And prepare our clothes for the following day. When the sun had set the television was unplugged. We always spent the evening outside in nature if the weather permits. We all would take turns telling about the previous week and conversing about anything the lords work mygrandmother usually would read us a biblical story which we all talked about. The good and/or the bad morals basically Bible studies. We would finish the evening observing the world around us from the crickets chirping the stars shining and the grass ect.... And vocalizing how amazing it all was and what it meant to us. We usually had prayers as a family and always said our prayers before bed. And the entirety of Saturday was devoted to the lord and his worship as well as family devotion . For during the first 6 days god created the heavens and the earth. God created everything, but on the seventh and final day God was to rest. Hints the sabbath. Idk but what I can say is that those were my favorite 24+ hours of the week. I always looked forward to spending that evening and day together hearing stories of the Bible learning how to best live our lives and how we all should treat each other and all of the lords creations. I do so miss being able to do this. And have recently been recognizing that without this I have strayed away! And seem to have forgotten so much about him and his sacrificed himself so all my sins can and will be forgiven if I so choose . Though I have neglected him he has not strayed nor has he forgotten or neglected me. He has patiently been waiting for me to return to

Jesus is our sabbath and our rest.

Edit: What I am trying to show through this verse is that no matter what day you rest in, it’s important for Jesus to be the center of that rest. Jesus is the prince of peace. The law about it being on Saturday is an old covenant law, we are now living in a new covenant from the Lord through Jesus. I am not taking it out of context, and if it seems that way I apologize. But this is my explanation.

Sabbath day is on Saturday for us Jews. We also believe it starts on Friday evenings at Sundown, and ends on Sundown Saturday. And Constantine did change it. He also applied Christian dynamics to Pagan Holidays, like Easter and Yule. I thought it was common knowledge.

The reason I thought the sabbath day was Sunday was because sabbath sounds like sabado in Spanish. And since I didn’t know my sundays and Saturday’s in Spanish… so I thought sabado was Sunday. And that’s why 🙃. Until later someone said the sabbath was on Saturday. I was shocked.
