I have that same pattern, but didn't realize that the back was sooo low! My daughter had picked it out for me to make for our beach vacation in May. I wasn't as brave as you, though! I instead sewed her the Cannes dress from Styla (Little Lizard King). You did a great job in altering the dress and she looked pretty in it!

Hi Karen! I bought S9327 to make for my daughter, and we didn’t realize how low the back was either. I was going to borrow a pattern piece from a similar Simplicity dress for the back. Maybe I’ll get to that this year… although it’s a spring/summer dress. Yours turned out so pretty!

Lovely creations! Those patterns with low backs are so annoying! I’ve done the same thing on other patterns with a low back. Even if it is not terribly low cut, when there is a deep vee front and back, the shoulders fall down constantly. Glad you finally got yours altered to your liking!

Such a pretty dress and you did a fantastic job on it. I have learned quite a bit from professor pincushion. Also just followed lifting pins & needles with Karina for a curved pocket in my last pair of pants I made. She made it so easy to understand. I’m busy trying to make some things to take on our Florida trip. We go twice a year to visit our youngest son & his family and our grandchildren 3 and 5 years old. We stay in a VRBO rental anywhere from 30-40 days. We have less than 2 months and we will be there and we both can hardly wait.
