Meet Your 2024 Elevate Aviation - Women Of Inspire
Sarah Nelson - Manager, Environment and Sustainability, YYC Calgary International Airport
Residing in Calgary, Alberta, Sarah lives with her husband and two young children. With a background rooted in rural Alberta ranching, Sarah's passion for environmental stewardship was cultivated early in life. This passion was continued further during her studies at the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology. Early in her career, Sarah worked with a focus on water quality and infrastructure before transitioning to her current role.
At the Calgary Airport Authority, where she has been a dedicated team member for the past decade, Sarah has been instrumental in major projects such as the East Runway Development Project, the South Glycol Treatment System, and the construction of the East Deicing Apron. She has also spearheaded significant sustainability initiatives, including the glycol recycling program and water conservation efforts for both the airport authority and our partners. Sarah looks forward to continuing her impactful work in the aviation industry for many years to come.
