they make your hand longer, so get to base sooner. also they used to say not to dive slide, that it's slower. i guess they've given up and are admitting it's better and faster way to slide.

I love when our 8U kids have them and wear them at tournaments that have tight bags and aren't allowed to steal... Nor can you slide head first! 😂

I honestly don’t see how a glorified oven mitt is going to prevent your hand from getting crushed by someone’s cleat. If you’re fingers are getting jammed on a face first slide you’re doing it wrong. These just seem like a dumb fad like those braided rope necklaces that everyone used to wear. It’s just about the “drip” as the kids say
