I guess I'll go find a good wall.

I'm a 10 year old blue belt, and I was always amazed at how my sensei made that "BANG" noise when he did something as simple as a punch. I haven't heard my sensei use the word kime yet, because I've only been doing karate for a year, maybe he should though I don't know. Anyway, this video finally helped me get that satisfying, firm snap out of my gi, and now I'm the only one in class with a really loud uniform haha

Although I don't practice Karate myself, I love your videos. Most of your tips can be applied to any other martial art. Please don't stop evolving and stay as authentic as you are! :)

Thank you for explaining this Jessie San. My Sensei told me to use less Kime, I had no idea what he meant. Thank you Osu

Hey Jesse, I just want to say that I've been in the martial arts for just less than 3 years and you (via this video) is the ONLY person to actually explain what this snap is. I've spoken to WKF champions, who just so happen to be acquainted with my club, and he couldn't (or refused to) explain what the snap is. All he said was, "It'll come with experience." and.... I've learned how to generate the snap in my kicks (not my blocks or punches... yet), but I never really understood WHAT MAKES THE SNAP. Thank you for giving this information to the world. You just got one more subscriber!

Very interesting! I'm a Sensei in Ju Jutsu, and during my lesson for the class today we focused on developing our technique for our Tsuki. I didn't know the proper word for snappy until now, thank you Sensei!

I remember my first lesson where Kime was the focus. Completely changed the way I train forever! Great exercise as well Jesse Sensei, I will be passing that on.

Nice Job!! You could make a video about breathing in the kata. A proper breth in kata.
my suggestion is to avoid a breath that is considered foul, as is usually seen in competitions. Thanks Jesse!!!!

Yes, thank you sensei . Kime is not the internel energy as some may think. Kime is the sense of decision and seriousness in any move, attack or defence...oss!
