Dialect Coach Guesses The Authentic New York Accent

I picked the same person he did. It was the way he said daughter that I thought for sure was the way a “New Yorker” would.

I predicted her, because her accent was less obvious but she came across the most genuine.

For me, it was clear just based on the fact that #1 was really forcing it. #3 would force it in 1-2 words then go back to his normal accent. #2 tattoo lady was the only one who spoke naturally even though she tried to hide her accent.

Wouldn't it have made more sense to have everyone try to speak with a NY accent and then him try to figure out who is authentic?
