This video has aged so well but still holds its usefulness intact.

This really helped, showing how to get to the options without editing files in the command line.

hi, any chance you know why I don't have the option "use another operating system"?
I have both linux and windows 10 installed fine and I can boot to both but I can't see them in their own setup, linux only sees linux and windows only sees windows

OMG I needed this. I upgraded to Windows 11 on my main, but I just got an M2 that I put Windows 10 on. I still prefer 10.

My pc says there is a problem setting up my pc and that an update should fix it. But, when the update trys to install, my pc reboots and gives me the same error again. How do I fix this?

Thanks for the video, very interesting. Hey, if I choose the "Use another OS" could I then, for example, start from a Linux boot USB and install that OS on a partition within Windows? Thanks again.

Okay, and why use Windows Boot Manager? I go to the UEFI list and I see my two disks and Windows Boot Manager. Why not just push the desired disk to the top of the list?

Is it possible to completely disable windows boot manager and let me pick the boot order from BIOS?

Hey Martin, what phase of the boot process is your machine in at 2:12, right after the 'ASUS' logo disappears but before the blue screen with white text appears? I am curious about the phase where the screen is all black and there is a white prompt in the top left of the screen for a split second. My machine hangs at that phase for like 4 minutes before finally loading Windows 10.

I wouldn't really use the term "boot manager" here. That is one of several features in WinRE (Windows Recovery Environment). First and foremost, it is meant to be a way to repair diagnose and repair your OS when it is not bootable. One other fantastic feature is System Restore. I always recommend turning this feature on as it's made some of my repairs, as a tech, able to be completed in an hour or 2.

how do I make it so that when I start up my computer, it makes me choose my operating system before it launches, for example if I want to have windows + Linux, and turn my pc on, I have the choice to choose either OS
