Batches have really been a community killer. No Jojo Fridays, no memes, no discussions... The hype starts and ends the very day the batch comes.

I feel that weekly releases are better because it gives the audience more time to think about events as they transpire and allows individual episodes to have more consideration. Binge watching, although time-efficient, makes individual episodes stand out less and takes away from discussion/thought around the show. In between the episode batches, many people may simply get tired of talking about the same anime for months on end when there’s nothing new coming out.

I thought everyone was overreacting when they said they hype for stone ocean would die down completely after like a month, but now it’s actually happened and I just wish we had a weekly release

It’s so weird to think how it’s been four months. I completely forgot about part 6 after I binged the whole season in like 2 days. For me there was no hype for when the next batch of episodes would come out, It wasn’t like when I watched part 5 and I was excited for next week so the hype kept going. For me it fizzled out, which is kind of a shame because I was so excited to finally see the saga continue.

How did Komi and even goddamn Blue Period get a weekly release yet this didn't? This feels like a terrible descision for what is probably one of the most highly anticipated anime sequels of all time. Hopefully Part 7 doesn't get done this dirty too if that comes.

I was one of the "I kinda like the batch episodes!" When asked originally, but now, I really see why it sucks. I was wrong. I want jojo fridays back

Batch releases would be a million times better with a schedule. I would still prefer a weekly release, but at least it would be liveable.

i never watched jojo during its release, but the stone ocean batches are just excruciating. the hype in japan is still up with all exclusive cafe events, merch and weekly eps, but the western fans get absolutely nothing

Netflix has put Jojo in a weird place here in the UK, they brought parts 1-3 to the site nearly two years ago and then instead of bringing parts 4 and 5 to their service, they just skipped straight to Stone Ocean and said “Part 6 is now out!” Which would confuse any new fans who want to get into Jojo, cause they’re missing two entire parts, both of which still appear in the opening to part 6!

I just finished stone ocean by just doing my own Jojo Fridays, it’s not that bad when you do it that way. I feel like some stuff maybe could’ve been better but it’s pretty solid for me especially watching it every Friday myself. Netflix was just such a bad choice on its own it’s like why, I remember when Eden’s Zero came out on Netflix it took 6 months outside of Japan when they got it weekly.

The worst part about this, is that it makes an already not very loved part into the most forgetful anime part

Releasing Jojo this way was a mistake. Not only has it completely killed any hype or anticipation for when more episodes come out, it may have killed any future parts coming to animation. It doesn’t help that humans generally have no sense of restraint and binge everything in a single day.

Very much miss the Jojo Fridays. Only got to experience them on Part 5's release, but I definitely prefer it to this way of release.
