More Evening Railfanning Along Metro North's New Haven Line 7/11/23 (Feat P&W CHFP)

Well, hello again everyone! I hope that you are all having a wonderful day and staying warm as its freezing out. On the night of July 11th, I decided to head to the New Haven Line to catch and chase CHFP. I would venture to West Haven where I would grab a section of the late evening rush and snagging a couple dead head moves and the regular scheduled Amtrak trains. If I remember correctly, I wanted to get something to east and while listening to the scanner feed, Amtrak Extra 2023 caught my attention. I was much closer to Milford at this point which I went to pretty quickly. This was an Acela Deadhead to NYP with Power car #2023 and 2025. I assume they were short on equipment as always. Not too much later, P&W CHFP came on by with Two C40-8s up front with #4052 leading the charge and 4051 behind that. Seeing that there were only 2 locos on the head of the train, I expected a pretty lengthy train with manned helpers on the back. The helpers would be P&W B40-8 4004 and C40-8 4050. I decided to still chase but went to Southport to catch the train. I ended up getting three trains at the very dim lit station. First was an EB MTA local 1588, CHFP and MTA 1997 deadheading to Stamford which came by as CHFP was passing. I would attempt to see CSX on my way home in West Haven but was unsuccessful and got one local instead. I called it a night not too much later as it was getting pretty late.
