I am a drummer on an open jam so someone broke the chain off my pearl eliminator so my friend went and got his pedal for me and it was this one. I have a size 15” foot and I play heel down so part of my heal was on the ground yet I loved the simple feel of this pedal and I lost 50% of muscle in my feet from neuropathy and can’t do say the good times bad times kick drum licks anymore until I played this pedal. I plan on replacing my eliminator with this pedal.

The biggest advantage is the ability to raise or lower based on bass drum size. I had a problem with slack in how the footboard connects to the heel plate. This caused the pedal to wobble sideways more than any other pedal I ever played. I thought it was more due to a single chain. I ended up taking it apart and putting a thin piece of plastic between the insert and solid piece on one side of the heel connection which eliminated the wobble. I have heard others complain about this same issue on Iron Cobra pedals also. The pedal doesn't have as much bounce now but isn't losing energy in a vertical wobble so is useable. I bought this instead of the Rogers due to cost. If I did it again I would try the Rogers. With a few inexpensive changes this could be a really good pedal.

I own one of these pedals. Pros: decent quality, lightweight and solves the issues with small bass drums eg 18" or 16" so you won't need a riser or hoop cut-out, which is great. BUT note that when the adjustable post is set low, you might find your toes hitting against the underside of the cam assembly as there isn't much clearance in this low post position.
As a left-hander, another benefit for me is that the single post is on the right-hand side which facilitates the foot-sliding technique for a left-hander/left-footer. Right-footers may find that the post is on the wrong side for them. I cannot go for the Jojo Mayer pedal cus that post is on the other side.
Cons: the pedal board is slightly shorter than average length and to be honest, it's a bit too short for my taste (and big feet). I'm actually trying to source a longer smooth pedalboard that I could fettle to fit, to give me my perfect pedal solution!

Just saw one at the Guitar Center in Emeryville and for $99 bucks it looks solid and well built.

Is it possible to reverse this pedal in order to play it on a cocktail setup? From the photos it looks possible, but I am not sure. Thanks

Can't wait for some reviews - this thing looks gnarly! Loving the shape, hoping it's not too flimsy, could have used a rounder cam too, not like metal people gonna be using this one. Buy it and review it people, see what you think!

I might have to put my Iron Cobra aside for this because of the ease of it, the spring tension, hight adjustment on both the foot board and the chain and the beater angel. I see it also has kind of the same Powerglide cam as my Cobra Powerglide which I like because I play fast to mid tempo punk so i need some power to push my new @Lowboybeater beater. What does it run price wise?

I have this pedal and find it top heavy sluggish with the original beater included!! I have tried different beaters..you will have to find a beater that works for your
personal spring tension & feel!!

like...why would you put the spring like that? I haven't touched the spring tension on my pedal for years. I guess 90% of the drummers do not care about changing spring tension depending on the song, right? I like the height adjustment idea, but that spring lever there is the reason I did not buy it.

Got it, but can't figure out how to adjust the spring tension. The way it's done here doesn't help at all. This is some space age stuff!

I bought a Speed King when I graduated from high school in 1977. I've never changed the factory adjustments. After all these years, the only thing I've done is occasionally oil the bearings. The new pedals are fascinating to see, but I think things are getting a bit crazy. Seems like many of the pedals today are unnecessarily over-engineered. And Most of the new pedals won't fit into a trap case.

Can you get this in a double pedal set up?

are there any other pedals out there that have adjustable height?

Do you guys who have used the HP50 think this is comparable to Jojo Mayer's perfect balance pedal?
