You all know that I love eShakti and have worn and promoted this brand for about a decade now, but if you've shopped with eShakti in the past 6 months or so, you've probably had some frustrating experiences.

In this video I talk about my recent bad experiences and share some information I've learned from the company. I hope this information will give you what you need to know before you decided to shop with eShakti and what to expect from them right now.

UPDATE - I placed and order with them on 6/28/23, I received an email the next day with a question about my measurements (just to clarify them, as I somehow had a different number on one of the items) and my order was delivered on 7/20/23. So just about a 3 week turnover, which is pretty good. I also received an email from them apologizing for the later delivery (it was noted on the website that I should have it earlier) and they gave me a $25 credit for the delay. So it seems that at least they are getting better with their communication and their production time is also getting better. So good news.

I am glad to have viewed this and noting this is 11 mos ago. This issue continues.😢I Am a multi-year customer for myself and another family member. I placed an order on 3/20/2024 for an event in 7/2024. I was a bit bothered by the length of time this appeared to be taking. Earlier this month (May), another friend said they hadn’t received an order placed either in January or February w/no response to outreach. I looked at my order which still showed as in Creation. As of 5/20/2024, no movement. I started bombarding through phone, the website, and CEO on LinkedIn and today the BBB w/a complaint then belatedly noticed my order is in cutting and stitching. Here’s hoping I’ll receive by the middle of June.

Thank you for sharing and being so transparent. I started buying from eshakti based on your videos and have loved every piece I've bought from them! This is definitely discouraging to hear, and I hope, like you said, that they get things sorted soon and start to communicate better in the meantime. I want to feel confident buying from them in the future because it has been a wonderful company to buy from over the years!

Same! I own about 80 eshakti dresses and the last 6 did not fit even though I provided measurements and paid for custom. I had to return for the first time in years. 😢 I LOVE them and what they offer us bigger gals. I’m just giving them a break and will try again later. Lol.

After watching all of your past Eshakti videos, I took the plunge and ordered 3 dresses using my actual measurements. Ordered on May 3rd, received about 2 weeks later. Very satisfied with the dresses and their fit. I currently have 3 more in my cart. I had a great experience, hopefully I can have the same if I order again. Thanks for all your information.

Thank you for making this video. I was considering ordering from them but am hesitant. Their clothes are beautiful and I don’t mind waiting for a custom made item. I stopped shopping Torrid’s vintage styles last year when shipping was taking 3 weeks and customer service never replied to my inquiries causing me to miss their 30 day exchange window by a day. It’s truly disappointing that people who create stylish fashion for my size don’t appear to be concerned about their customers. It’s great to hear from others that are experiencing the same thing. Hopefully those businesses are reading this blog and these comments and will make an effort to change.

Oh my gosh, I went down this same Eshakti rabbit hole a few months ago. I had placed an order for two holiday dresses on black Friday, which arrived (totally ill -fitting) between Christmas and New years. They approved my return right away, and then went completely radio silent on the remakes, despite my constant attempts to contact them. I can't remember exactly when they finally got the remakes to me, but I want to say it was late Feb/early March?

That said, I've since placed three orders for more standard cotton dresses. The first one arrived about a month after ordering, and the three dresses were some of the best fitting ones I've ever ordered from them. I placed another order May 12, which has not yet shipped, and a third order May 26th, which surprisingly shipped today.

I'm still promoting them, but with caveats. I've been warning people to allow at least a month or so to get their orders, and suggesting that they do the simpler cotton dresses really well, but can get really hung up on the more complicated ones.

Also, the fact that the affiliate program link is still there bothers me every time I see it. I did eventually get my funds that were owed, I think by contacting them via linked in, but I've told them countless times that they need to remove the link, and yet... They definitely need help.

Hello, I’m glad to heard someone tell something about what is going on with this company. I was very happy because I was found a company to make my dresses to go to the church, very modest, so I can made the change to made them modest to go go to the church, but I start to experience the same thing. My last order I made it on January 24 2024 and is April 26 and no received yet. My order was 2 dresses supposedly one is done and the other one is in the 2nd step of the production. I feel so bad, because I really like the company, but I done with then.

So glad you made this video. It's been a while since I put an order in but I know the last one I ordered did take a lot longer than expected. Which was wierd after there recent deal with trying to say they could get your garment to you in 7 days... its like that put them going in the opposite direction. But I love so many of the dresses I've gotten from them and you are the one who introduced me to them. So I hope they can figure their business out because I would love to continue to send customers their way. Or at least I'll be warning them about delivery time issues when I do refer them.

Back in May, customer service did answer my call and I was told that there was a lot of fabric that was damaged so they were backlogged. Like you, I let them know that they needed to let me know what was going on because being ignored is much worse than knowing I'd have to wait due to damaged fabric. They apologized and I received my order pretty quickly after that. Like you, I've ordered since with no issues. I still love this company.

Yes same problem. I am tall 5’ 10” so I like the customization. Recently thier production time is VERY lengthy. I still order from them from time to time cuz they have some cute stuff. Don’t be in a hurry if you order from them.

Thank you so much for sharing this information with us. I've ordered from them in the past, but it has been a while and I was JUST looking at some blouses. I'll definitely have to wait and see how things develop with their communication and keep in mind that there will be delays if I do decide to order. I'm sorry this has happened, it's definitely a bummer when a brand you enjoy falls off the wagon.

I am also a long time customer but my last two orders were customized completely wrong and took a long time to arrive, then the remakes took 6 weeks to get back to me as well.
I love eshakti for their trousers as I am very tall but I am currently in a wait and see mode as their customer. I really hope they can get whatever issues they are having rectified as I have always enjoyed their clothing.

This video is very helpful! The last 2 orders have taken about 4 weeks to get to me. The customer service has been hit and miss. There is a defect in my new dress and I could not get a hold of them. I am going to take it locally to repair and just spend the money. I will still order from them but do it 2 months in advance for anything important.

It's super disappointing. The customer service has really gone down. I still love the clothes, but I noticed anything with embroidery on it definitely takes even longer to ship. I am definitely looking for other custom clothing makers. It's really hard to find though.

It’s crazy because just last year, I think, Torrid had the same issue. Orders were backing up because they were switching to a new system. I started to get annoyed because my orders were coming in multiple packages, arriving to me at different times and also take weeks to MONTHS in some cases to get to me. Just when I’d made up my mind that I was done buying from them, I got an email from the company apologizing and explaining the situation. So I stuck with it, probably four-ish months later it was back to normal. Also they had a message perms-pinned to the top of there website about the new system and delays in shipping till the problem was resolved. All of this, is what kept me from leaving Torrid forever and going elsewhere. My last order with eshakti took two months to get to me. One dress sat in the cutting phase for two weeks before it finally moved to sewing. I hope they get it sorted out soon because I’ve only ordered twice and I love their clothes.
