I've listened to Gramm his first replacement Johnny Edwards and Hansen on this song. Hansen has a soft pop vocal take on Long, long way from home. I'd know immediately this wasn't Lou Gramm or Edwards because they push the song into an intense level when they sang this live. Hansen puts me to sleep. At least the music was strong, a key lower than normal but strong.

Come to terms with Kelly Hanson maybe his vocals sound like Lou’s but his stage presence is more energetic and maybe it’s his heavy Metal background with Hurricane he owns that stagger so different from Lou who will allways be the voice of Foreigner

Kelly has a great voice and stage presence. Great energy and he carry’s the band every night and works the crowd. Everyone always wants the original but sometimes the alternative ain’t to bad and in this case it is great!

Kelly does fantastic. I sing this song and will post it. First, Lou had a gift from God and a lot of people try to differentiate him from others and i feel the centroid is never communicated on the dot. They are saying it but not in proper semantic written language. Lou's gift was the tonal frequencies he emits as he is singing notes. There is a unique signature level authority on his tone. If you look at the chemistry of the tone he has a very sharp edgy tone on the voice that is right at the point of impact. Others do it and can sing the notes well as in Kelly's case but its a point of how much they can clinch the tone with a sharp serrated edgy tone. With most Foreigner emulators there is what i call this small distance gap between the tones emitted and hitting it right on the wall and the vocals get rounded off somewhat but Kelly does a great job at keeping that edge. The second thing is that Lou was the song which defined him as being seamlessly integrated with the song where the song and the voice effectively become one in the sense that there is music and a voice distinctly but the two are integrally connected to that which becomes the song not just singing a song well and part of that was that he was the originator of the song and the era and the pure statistic of his voice matching that song like Steve perry or peter cetera matches their genre. Who is going to out peter cetera when his voice was made for the music and the music was made for his voice. that is a statistic abnormality. Which is why i go back to the fact that the moments in times that the music was made was a pure gaussian outlier experience. Its truly a rarity

Kelly has always done a great job. Lou gram will always be the owner of these songs. I know that sucks for Kelly in a way. But of course you move on. It’s life.
