Bariatric and all blankets and sheets = ~ Next we call the Fire department for a lift assist because a really heavy person is probably covered in poop and we don’t want to put the poop burrito into the booboo bus.

When my dad was on hospice at my house at the finality of end stage liver cancer & I couldn’t get him off his portable toilet (not to heavy, he just had lost any muscle in his legs and required help to even move them off his bed) at 3am, the EMT’s & fire dept came and were extremely gracious in addition to them doing the job of getting him back into his bed; they hung out and chatted with him for about 30 mins. I have a huge amount of respect for those in the field, and the EMT’s especially are really under paid.

"What's your pr?"
"500"
"Man that's a lot of plates"
"Plates?"

For context they didn’t go into the house because they are going to need a winch and physics professor to get the patient out of the house.

First ems/fire call was a +850 lbs lift assist. Had to use a 24 to 3 pulley system upstairs and a bobcat hooked up to the ropes outside

Thank you to all the compassionate EMS and FD.
You all helped my 650lb father multiple times before the last.
His addiction and depression was never addressed and basically he was just waiting to die with a DNR. It was gross but thank you for not laughing in his face.

I used to work with a retired Fireman on a landscaping crew. He used to tell us stories, and one time he told us about this Bariatric (insanely obese) lady who had died about 3 weeks prior to the Fire crew actually getting into her apartment. The smell was indescribable he said, but by that point he had done enough jobs to say that "tasting it" or breathing through the mouth was more preferable XD. Anyway the lady had been rotting into her couch for so long that her skin was grafted to it like dried glue. So the guys essentially cut the couch fabric out in her shape, like a looney toons drawing, and hoisted her out of the building using sheets, blankets, multiple stretchers and whatever else they had to help leverage her down a flight of stairs with. 6 burly -huge strongmen struggling with something that heinous for multiple hours??? All I've gotta say is hats off and respect to every EMT, FIREFIGHTER, and NURSE putting in that work on the human level. Thank you and Bless up!

Don’t look at the clock is so real 😂. You know you’ve been at it too long when you start the “only fifteen more minutes until there’s only an hour left until half this day is finally over”

As a past EMT, I can relate. It was a rewarding job and I enjoyed serving the community. Thank you for your service.

Used to flag traffic pulled a lot of scheduled 8s that actually ended up being over 14s. He isnt kidding. You just stop checking the time.

You're a great actor. Excellent timing, plot development, and everything.

Then we also have to wait for the lift assist because he “DAYUM!” Bariatric and fire can’t even fully help

For those who don’t get it, bariatric means REALLY fuckin fat 😂

I cant imagine how humiliating it is for a person to have to be hauled out like that. I think the EMTs are very aware of the patient's feelings.

As an EMR the only reason I don't want to advance up and train to be an EMT or a Nurse really IS the hours you spend on the job. I like my regular 40 hour schedule and hate being on call. Getting woken up at 2AM on Saturdays working Maintenance at a retirement home did that to me

Being sensitive to others in their most vulnerable state is not something that can be taught in a classroom. On the job training and having been raised properly speaks volumes. Love you content ❤
