"If You Can Dream" est la première chanson initialement écrite et enregistrée spécialement pour la franchise médiatique "Princesses Disney".
Composée par Robbie Buchanan et Jay Landers, la chanson fut pour la première fois publiée sur l'album Disney Princess: "The Ultimate Song Collection".

Cette chanson est chantée par les huit premières Princesses Disney officielles. Elle figure sur plusieurs CD de musique Disney et ce clip est présent sur presque tous les DVD "Princesses Disney" et a été diffusée plusieurs fois sur Disney Channel.

La chanson a été reprise par la chanteuse de country Ashley Gearing, et dans une version modifiée dans le show "Disney on Ice Princess Wishes" en tant que final du spectacle.

"If You Can Dream" clôt également le spectacle nocturne de Disneyland Paris "Disney Illuminations" où il fait office d'épilogue avant l'annonce de la fermeture du parc.

"If You Can Dream" is the first song originally written and recorded specifically for the "Disney Princess" media franchise.

Composed by Robbie Buchanan and Jay Landers, the song was first released on the Disney Princess: "The Ultimate Song Collection" album.

This song is sung by the first eight official Disney Princesses. It is featured on several Disney music CDs and this video is featured on almost every "Disney Princess" DVD and has been shown several times on the Disney Channel.

The song has been covered by country singer Ashley Gearing, and in a modified version in the "Disney on Ice Princess Wishes" show as the show's finale.

"If You Can Dream" also closes the Disneyland Paris nighttime show "Disney Illuminations" where it serves as the epilogue before the park's closing announcement.

For the first time, the song is presented here in a 16/9 cinema version.

It's kinda sad no one talks about this song. Ik it was just meant for the disney princess sing-along-song but I genuinely listen to this on its own. It is always emotional for me. Maybe because of the nostalgia of the disney princesses, but this song is so beautiful 🩷

It’s sad that most people think that Disney princesses have a bad rep nowadays. To me, it wasn’t just about them finding love, which nothing is wrong with that if you want it. To me, they were these strong women who encouraged me to be kind, have dreams, never give up no matter how hopeless and to forgive those who hurt you. For example, Cinderella didn’t pay back her stepmother and stepsisters, she just forgave them and left to start her life free of them. Another example, Snow White stayed kind and hopeful even after she went through a lot, the loss of her father, her stepmother trying to kill her- despite all that, she didn’t harden her heart and stayed true to herself. Belle helped save the heart of a man who caused a curse and never gave up on staying true to herself like reading in a time when it wasn’t encouraged for women to read, let alone have opinions. Mulan saved her father from certain death, and showed others that women are just as good as men, and she protected her friends. Aurora dreamed of a better life and wasn’t afraid to pursue it even if her Aunts told her no. Ariel pursued her dreams of going to the surface even if her dad or Sebastian didn’t want her to. Elsa and Anna showed me what love and family is all about, to never give up on each other. Pocahontas stood up to her father and stopped a war and also showed a stranger not like her that we may look and speak different, but we are all the same and need to respect the world we lived in. Kida saved her kingdom from destruction and never gave up on hope that her kingdom would gain their power back. Rapunzel was shut away and didn’t let Gothel get to her by finding her self worth and true family. Jasmine stood up to her dad and Jafar and wouldn’t let anyone tell her who to love. Tiana kept pushing for her dream even if others said it was hopeless. Meg sacrificed herself to save someone she loved and also forgave the one that hurt her and allowed herself to love. Esmeralda stood up to a horrible tyrant; and to discrimination, in a time when it ran rampant with religious hysteria. Raya leaned to forgive and accept those from different lands and to be as one. Moana saved her people and the ocean, by going out of her comfort zone and literally told a demigod what was the right thing to do. Merida defied what was expected of her and was able to save her mom as well as mending their relationship. These women are my heroes, not just for the ones who found love, but also for staying true to their morals and not letting the world hold them back!

Love the HD quality and sad that this song is considered outdated because outside of Tiana and Rapunzel, the newer princesses are mainly single so they won’t relate to this song as much.
