Cherry Kiss Cookies
Ingredients
1 cup salted butter, softened
1 1/4 cups powdered sugar
1/2 teaspoon almond extract (or vanilla extract, if preferred)
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
3 tablespoons maraschino cherry juice
2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
3/4 cup maraschino cherries, finely chopped
Hershey’s Kisses, unwrapped (about 30–36, depending on cookie size)
Instructions
Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Cream Butter and Sugar: In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened salted butter and powdered sugar together until light and fluffy.
Add Flavors: Mix in the almond and vanilla extracts, then add the maraschino cherry juice until well combined.
Combine Dry Ingredients: Gradually add the flour to the butter mixture, mixing until just combined.
Add Cherries: Fold in the finely chopped maraschino cherries.
Shape Cookies: Scoop about 1 tablespoon of dough and roll into balls. Place them about 2 inches apart on the prepared baking sheet. *Optional: roll cookie balls in sugar before baking.
Bake: Bake for 10–12 minutes, or until the edges are set but not browned.
Add Hershey’s Kisses: Remove the cookies from the oven and immediately press a Hershey’s Kiss into the center of each cookie.
Cool: Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely. Enjoy!
