The rebel Myanmar National Democratic Alliance Army (MNDAA) says a 36-year-old district commander and two MNDAA soldiers were sentenced to death.

Myanmar is a country with diverse ethnic group(over 100 ethnic group).
Those lived in northern states are predominantly ethnic Han Chinese lived there for many many centuries.
Many ethnic minority lived in the north, east, west, and southern states rebelled against the central military Junta dominated by Bamar ethnic group (68% out of 55 million population).
Also many from Bamar ethnic group rebelled against the Junta, like pro-Aung San Suu Kyi groups and pro-democracy groups joint forces with minority ethnic groups against the central government.

This is a huge positive. The rebels are putting their own war criminals on trail and bringing them to justice which is a rare sight in the modern world.

It is part of Myanmar in Northern Shsn State. The MNDAA or the Kokang is ethnic Chinese and in the 1990s the group was recognized as an ethnic group in Myanmar by (Ex) Gen Khin Nyunt for their leading role in mutinizing from the Burmese Comunist Party, a formidtable enemy of the Burmese army. The Kokang only speaks Chinese and the MNDAA is the mastermind behind the recent 1027 operation.

You say the rebel group is mndaa??? And you said the mndaa soldiers are sentenced to death? Means they killed their own soldiers? Doesnt make sense....
