I actually think the bearing housing is threaded into the gearbox housing. You can see the damaged threads 7 min and 10 seconds into the clip. And 6, 53 minutes into the clip you see o trace of threads in the bearing housing as it has sheared away. This was a brutal way of destroying the lower unit.

I have a 115ETLJ and in the rear I have a nipple 6E5-45378-00-00 with a hose 90445-07MF2-00 connected to it and is closest to the gear shaft. When I was changing the Impeller I had to disconnect this hose when pulling out the lower unit and was wondering what this hose connection was for.

protip, if your lower unit is this fucked, you will far and away spend way way too much money trying to fix it. Yamaha still sells them new going back years and years and if you add the price of parts you will find you will spend more than the cost of a new one. trying to pull the lower bearing races requires a few special, expensive, tool, and doing it like this will irreparably damage the soft aluminum. just find someone that remanufactures them, and you might find a deal, but shipping it alone will cost a small fortune. Not to mention heating aluminum and quenching it isnt helping anything.
