one thing to keep in mind that the darker area isn't night time. a lot of it is twilight. for example, in germany there's no night time in summer, only twilight

Ummm, why is the sun rotating and not the earth? If we lived on a ball we would never see a 24 hour sun. Geocentrism is looking more and more plausible!
