Whenever I see a Tom Misch song I immediately hit the like button even without listening to the whole song, because you know it's always soo good.

I listened to this while sitting in my backyard during quarantine. I was specifically thinking about the whole mess in the world as well as the personal problems I had to deal with, but my attention was drawn to my romaine lettuce plant. It had been doing so well. The plant was very green, and buds started to appear. But now it has rot on it and probably won't make it. I was sad until I was presented with another perspective. Maybe the plant will live, maybe not. But that's not the most important part. What's important is what I do after the plant dies or grows. This perspective bled into the other worries that I had from the news to my life. And I realised that life is not about what happens to you, it about what you do about it. And my worries started to fade and I remembered its needless and useless to worry about what you can't control. because for a instant the past and future didn't exist and I understood what truly matters and I started to wonder what the hell was in my coffee...

When dark times emerge, when I cannot really see myself going pass a day, when I find no purpose for my existence (far from suicide). I dont know how I would articulate the feeling I get from this song but think about an inmate who is in solitary getting a visit by his mother....the hope, the joy, the release of tension made by just a guy (Tom) playing this from humble setting...I play it every morning before I jump out the bed....this is the stuff that goes to my diary but I thought I should share for everyone who is a fan of Tom Misch.
