My Art and Creativity PODCAST:

Snapchat: LironYan3

Hi there, Liron here!
And today I'm finally on an art adventure outside!

Thought I'd show you some of Tel-Aviv, and we'll do some plein-air painting.

Found this cool juice place, loved the way the light influenced the look of the awning.

As always, a lot of improvement required, but that's part of painting outside, in the best and greatest studio (;

Thank you so much for sharing your neighborhood, Liron. I think the best “takeaway” from your videos which stands out for me is your wonderful, positive attitude. In changing conditions in Plein Air, your positive attitude is unfazed by anything thrown at you (even creepy mannequin dolls)! I believe this is really important because in Plein Air, you can’t control your environment. I love how you discuss your decision making process. You are a truly gifted artist and teacher. Thank you!

Thanks for sharing your "plein air process" like this, it is very inspirational! Also, it was very relaxing for me to hear you talk about liking only parts of the final result and about "not being caught up on getting everything exactly the same as what you're looking at", especially when working outside. It makes me feel like it's perfectly normal to make guesses and to struggle a bit. So thanks again!

Yes for sure more of these. I am just impressed that when you do your first wash that the different colors do not bleed to much into each other. I guess that is where the "control" and knowing how much pigment to pick up comes in. I feel I have learned more over the past 6 weeks with your videos and in the past 15 years from books. You teach well and I like that you talk us through your process and share your thoughts why you do what you do (or why you don't do something ). Glad I found you

Thanks liron.i love how you think out loud as you make your decisions.that is very helpful! You captured the awnings and the deep shade around the juice vender beautifully- that what caught you eye about the scene in the first place.good choice!

Really enjoyed seeing you pick and paint this scene...I have never painted outside but can see why the changing light can be challenging...well done.

I love your adventures. I know they must be more difficult so thanks for doing it for us. It's good to get out of the studio once in a while.

Wow. I give you a ton of credit for painting outside and to your point, yes, it is a.ways changing. The video had excellent pointers as usual. Thank you again. I’m so glad you share.

Love it! Keep doin you man. I was inspired to go out and meet with the local Urban Sketchers group this past week. I picked a nice quiet spot to start painting, but within 30 minutes I was surrounded by toddlers in tutus preparing for a dance class. You never know what you're going to run into out there!

OOh, we are going outside!!!! Love seeing you packing up! I have a backpack and then I have a Derwent pencil case, canvas type when I go to sketch but it can hold my paper and wc palette too. I have to decide if I take the back pack or just the case depending on what I'm gonna do. :)

Loved the video angles in the intro and following you through the city. It was like a vlog with a watercolor twist. I'd love to see more of the city 😁

What great fun!!  I like this piece, a lot.  And it makes me realize that there are lots of scenes to paint, right outside my door.  One thing:  as I watch you work, I am always amazed at how dark you paint things----and then, how light they dry---just like you always say.  ;o)  I am still working to get over my fear of trying.  Thanks for sharing!
