If you want it even cheaper, get the Craftsman version. Craftsman is just Dewalt in red, and Dewalt is just Mac in yellow.

I used to be one of those guys that made fun of anyone not using Dewalt/Milwaukee but I gotta admit, I’m very impressed with Craftsman High torque 1/2 impact wrench.

The older versions, the Mac casing was more oil and chemical resistant for use by mechanics.

A few models had slightly tweaked internals, but barely.

The model in this vid is the new one, and Mac does not make a red Mac version of it because it has the oil/chemical resistant casing already from DeWalt.

Can still be bought off the Mac truck.

The only genuine difference as far as I know is that the Mac impacts are made of a much more chemical resistant polymer. Other than that, nailed it

My Mac guy had a used 3/8s impact wrench for $150 today. Dude warrantied it and after he got it he found 2 more at his house and returned it. So basically brand new just didn’t have a battery which I already had

You can also save money with the yellow and go for black and decker industrial and get same dewalt version for 1/2 price of dewalt. Or go red Milwaukee and you don’t save money but you have the best.

Thing is for me, I got my student discount on my Mac gun and got it way cheaper than what a dewalt one is worth. So in that case I got a great deal

Not true, mac has a different casing that is resistant to automotive fluids like brake cleaner and trans fluid ect.

The Mac impact is supposed to have plastic and rubber that is oil resistant. Same otherwise but built for a mechanic garage application.

My Mac dealer sold me the Dewalt for this reason. Still running 9 years later

There are a few subtle differences. Not enough to make a real significant difference, but there are a handful of parts which are unique to the Mac tools branded one. If you put them side by side you can see the whole front end of it is different.

Of course, that doesn't make it worth an extra 200-300 dollars... but it's not identical is all I'm saying.
